Criticality Mission Guide (The Edge of Fate)

Criticality is a mission in The Edge of Fate, which is one of the most unique missions in the whole of the campaign. In this mission, you'll be working against the clock, and the timer on the top of your screen will dictate whether you make it through the mission or fail. Fail the mission, and you'll have to do it all over again.

Criticality Mission Guide

As you enter the mission, you'll notice a 6 minute 'Time to Criticality' timer at the top of your screen. If this timer runs out, you'll fail the mission.

You'll need to use the Relocator Cannon to proceed forward. The starting node is to the right, and you'll need to turn the satellite until it is facing Backwards. Shoot the Relocator cannon to activate the portal.

Continue forward into the train.

Once you exit the train, you'll enter the Reactor room, where you'll find the cause of the Reactor meltdown.

There will be three goblins around the center. Eliminate them, and they'll drop motes. These motes will extend your timer by 10 seconds. Every enemy in this mission will drop these motes, so be sure to slay out ads and pick up motes throughout the mission.

Head to the door on the left of the room to progress forward.

Within the next room, you'll need to destroy 3 Disruptors to unlock a terminal.

The first Disruptor can be found directly to the right from where you came in. Break it to clear the frequency.

Another Disruptor can be found with three signal cubes protecting it. One of the cubes can be seen from where you entered the room, the other two around the back of the Disruptor. Break all three to lower the barrier and access the Disruptor.

The third must be accessed with Matterspark. Use the Matterspark pad infront of the last distruptor and head down the ramp and into the Matterspark Tunnel on the right. Continue forward, supercharging your Matterspark ability as you go, until you come across the Disruptor.

Use your Supercharged ability to break the Disruptor, and head back inside the room.

Once all three have been broken, you can activate the terminal to lower the barrier at the back of the room.

Eliminate the System Reintegrator, and then break the signal cube to complete the room.

Continue forward to get to the next mini-puzzle.

Here, you'll have to use Matterspark and Mattermorph to escape the room.

Activate Mattermorph and use your ability to fill in the gap on the trail.

Now, enter Matterspark and climb up the boxes on the opposite side of the room, and begin carefully travelling across the pipes.

Enter the vent to enter the next area.

In this area, you'll need to destroy three more Disruptors.

One can be found inside of the middle structure on the top floor. Break it to clear the Rosetta Frequency.

The next can be found to the right of the room, which is protected by three signal cubes. One cube will be to the right of the Disruptor, and the other two to the left, off the edge of the cliff. Break all three to access the Disruptor and clear the frequency.

The third can be found to the left of the room. You'll need to use Matterspark to charge the terminal infront and lower the barrier. The Matterspark pad can be found to the right of the room.

Enter Matterspark and charge up the terminal to lower the barrier. Break the Disruptor to continue.

Head back to the middle and unlock the Rosetta Console.

Defeat the System Reintegrator and break the signal cube to complete this room.

Press onward to the third coolant pump, using Mattermorph to traverse your way across.

Head upwards to enter the next area of the mission.

In this area, you'll need to destroy three more Disruptors to repair the last coolant pump.

The first can be found as you enter the room, protected by three signal cubes. One signal cube is to the right of the entrance, the other two directly ahead. Break all three to access the Disruptor.

The next Disruptor can be found by the Rosetta terminal. Break it to continue.

For the third, you'll need to use the Relocator Cannon found by the terminal to teleport your way to the Disruptor.

The starting node and Matterspark Portal can be found on the opposite side of the room.

A Sattelite can be found on the roof above the Terminal. Ensure it is facing downwards before firing the Relocator cannon.

Shoot the cannon and enter the portal to find the third Disruptor. Break it to continue.

Head back outside and interact with the Terminal.

Eliminate the System Reintegrator and the signal cube to repair the final coolant pump.

Continue onward to make your way back to the Reactor.

You'll need to use the Relocator cannon to teleport yourself back to the Reactor. Ensure the Satellite in the middle of the corridor is facing Left before continuing.

The starting node can be found to the right. Shoot it to activate the Relocator Portal and step through.

Rally up before entering the Reactor once more.

As you enter the room, there will be a Matterspark-baned Goblin in the center. Enter Matterspark and use your Supercharged ability to eliminate it. You'll enter a Darkness Zone and the final boss encounter will begin.

The 'Eulochus, Fissile Mind' Hydra will break out of it's shield and start to target you. Begin damaging the Hydra.

Once it is at half health, it's shields will recover. To break the shield, you'll have to break three more Disruptors, located to the Left, Right, and Front of the arena.

To break the Disruptors, enter Matterspark and collect the arc charges around the arena to Supercharge. Use your Supercharged ability next to the Matterspark-baned Enemy to break it's shield and shatter the Disruptor. Kill the enemy and progress to the next Disruptor.

Once all three have been broken, return to the Front-right of the arena to find the Rosetta Terminal.

Interact with the terminal to lower the boss's shields once more.

Eliminate the Fissile Mind to finish the mission, and save Kepler from obliteration. Claim your rewards in the center of the room.
