How to obtain Graviton Spike: Graviton Through The Ages Guide

Obtaining Graviton Spike requires you to complete puzzles all around Kepler. Find out how to do so here.

One of the best things about The Edge of Fate is the introduction of multiple new exotics that are not only fun to use, but are really solid weapons in general. One of those weapons is the Graviton Spike hand cannon, an Arc hand cannon that can switch between Arc and Stasis by holding down your reload button.

With how interesting and versatile this gun is, you'll want to get your hands on it as soon as you're finished with The Edge of Fate, especially if you want to take it into The Desert Perpetual Contest Mode this weekend. So, to make sure you can get your hands on it as quickly as possible, we're going to go over how you can unlock the Graviton Spike as quickly as possible.

In this article, we're going to go over how to acquire the Graviton Spike Hand Cannon. This will mean taking you through the whole Graviton Through The Ages quest, so you can get your hands on this sweet new weapon. The actual quest isn't that long, but will require a lot of running around Kepler. We'll also go over how to unlock its intrinsic upgrades.

Graviton Through The Ages Guide

To unlock Graviton Spike, you need to finish The Edge of Fate's campaign. Once you've done so, you'll be given a quest called Graviton Through The Ages. This is the quest that you'll need to complete to be able to obtain the Graviton Spike hand cannon.

1. Speak To Lodi

Head to Caldera, and interact with Lodi, who will be stood near Ikora (and marked with the exotic waypoint. Speak to him, and you'll be given the Rosetta III upgrade.

2. Speak with the Emeritus in the Caldera.

Go and talk to the Emeritus, who will be stood in front of the golden orb in the middle of Caldera. Once you've done this, the real quest begins.

3. Triangulate the location of the weapon piece using the Rosetta device in the Outer Steppes.

Head to this location in the Outer Steppes and find the Rosetta Sentry.

Kill the Sentry and head to the Aionian Terminal next to it.

4. Find the lost Department of External Observations weapon piece within the search area.

Head towards the right of the terminal, and continue following your waypoint until you reach the search area, which will also be on your map.

Once you're in the search area and see the 'Near Objective' marker, you'll need to hit three pylons. The first is up to the left as you walk into the open area, inside of a cavernous structure.

There will also be a pipe next to it, which leads to the second. This is also the door which you'll need to go into once you've destroyed all 3 pylons.

The final one is below where you enter, if you drop down into the lower area of the cave. Once you've done all 3, head back to that door.

There will be a pile of scrap metal glowing orange there. Interact with it to obtain the first part for Graviton Spike.

5. Speak with the Emeritus in Caldera

Head back to Caldera, and speak with the Emeritus once again. You'll then unlock the next step, which is similar to the last but based in another region of Kepler.

6. Triangulate the location of the weapon piece using the Rosetta device in the Gorge

Head over to the Gorge within The Stellar Sink, to this area specifically.

You'll find another Rosetta Sentry as you enter the room that the waypoint leads you to. Kill it.

Once you've killed it, find the terminal. It'll be on the right side of the room, on top of of a stone platform. Activate it.

7. Find the lost Department of External Observations weapon piece within the search area.

For the next piece, head to this area within The Stellar Sink. When you get there, you'll see a ledge. Jump over to it and enter Matterspark, heading through the tunnel.

Once you're in the room, obtain Mattermorph, then head back out.

Quickly go back the way you came into the main room, then through the original pipe. But, take the turning to the right.

Inside of there, there will be a Mattermorph target. Hit it, and go through to the next room.

On the floor is the next pile of scraps. Interact with it to pick up the next piece for Graviton Spike.

8. Speak with Lodi in the Caldera.

Go back to the Caldera, and speak to Lodi, who will be in the same place as last time.

9. Triangulate the location of the weapon piece using the Rosetta device in Exile's Accord.

Now, for the next piece, in the same fashion: head to this area in the Augur's Bethel area of Exile's Accord.

Kill the Rosetta Sentry, once again.

Behind it will be another Rosetta terminal. Interact with it.

10. Find the lost Department of External Observations weapon piece within the search area.

Head to this spot in the same area, following the waypoint. You'll end up back in the room with the pipes that you would've navigated through to get to the Rosetta Sentry.

The next piece is at the end of the room.

11. Speak with the Emeritus in the Caldera

Go and speak to the Emeritus, who will be in the usual place in Caldera.

12. Collect Data Fragments from defeated Vex. More powerful Vex will provide more data.

Go and kill Vex in Kepler until you have enough data fragments. These will be little motes that drop on the ground.

13. Find the lost Department of External Observations weapon piece within the search area.

The next part will be within the Aionain Campus area of the Central academy. Head over to this area.

In this area, you'll see a laser grid door with a Relocator pad inside of it. Your next piece is in there there.

Go through the tunnel near the door and there will be an open area with a big metal cage on a crane.

You'll need to open it using Mattermorph. There's a red metal tube in the Left corner of the room which has a Mattermorph terminal at it.

Activate Mattermorph, go to the crane and grab the Relocator cannon, and then head back to the laser door and shoot yourself through.

On the floor will be the final piece for Graviton Spike.

14. Speak to Lodi

Return to Caldera and speak to Lodi one last time.

15. Assemble the weapon using The Sieve

Finally, you'll need to go into The Sieve to obtain your Graviton Spike. Importantly, The Sieve is only available once every 2 hours, and so you'll need to wait until it's available to be able to enter the activity and play.

Complete the activity and you'll finally have Graviton Spike.

Closing Time

Graviton Spike is an interesting weapon, and might be one of the most enjoyable exotics we've gotten in recent times. The quest to get it is pretty lengthy and takes some time, but once you have it you'll be sure to enjoy what it has to offer.
