(This guide will be updated as we make our way through The Edge of Fate campaign)
The Edge of Fate is the newest Destiny campaign, and is a new era of Destiny 2 with lots of interesting developments both in mechanics and lore. Taking place on the world of Kepler, The Edge of Fate is filled with mysteries and new places to explore and discover using the destination abilities like Matterspark, Relocator, and Mattermorph.
This is our full guide to the expansion, with a walkthrough for every story quest and everything you might want to know about The Edge of Fate. Buckle up, as it looks like this is going to be a campaign with depth and lots of different ways you can navigate.
Campaign Information
The Edge of Fate campaign, released on 14/07/2025, is the newest installation in the story of Destiny 2. Explore the world of Kepler and find out the secrets of the Nine, as you begin to unravel this new era.
Difficulties
- Brave: Normal difficulty, with normal enemies and combat.
- Legendary: A -20 Power delta, with more aggressive enemies.
If you want to partake in The Desert Perpetual Contest Raid, it's heavily recommended to complete The Edge of Fate on Legendary.
Campaign Walkthrough
Prologue
1. Complete The Invitation
Follow the invitation. Travel to Kepler and uncover the nature of the mysterious signal emanating from this drifting rim-world.
For this step, you need to complete the first mission of the Campaign: The Invitation. This mission introduces you to the world of Kepler, its mechanics, and the character Lodi.

2. Integrate the Strangelet Capsule at the Altar of Relativity
Once you've completed the initial mission, the Invitation, head to the Altar of Relativity in Kepler's first region; Caldera. Interact with it.
3. Return power to the altar systems
With this, you need to go to two power banks in the area of Caldera and interact with them to charge them. The location of the first will be marked on your map, and when you arrive at them they'll read 'Perform Rite of Ignition'. This will trigger a voice line.
Once you've done this, head to the second one (now marked on the map) and do the same.
4. Restart the Altar of Relativity
Head back to the Altar of Relativity, and you'll see an interact that says 'Perform Rite of Maintenace'. Goa head and interact to activate the Altar.
5. Integrate the Strangelet Capsule
Once you've done this, you'll need to still integrate the strangelet capsule you found in the introductory mission.
Interact with it to put the capsule into the altar and activate the room around you. You'll see a voice line from II of the IX.
6. Inspect the Altar of Relativity
Once you've done this, you can inspect the Altar of Relativity, and then obtain The Edge of Fate's actual campaign quest.
Campaign
1. Meet Rebecca, Dean of the Aionians
After claiming the quest, go down to the front of the staircase up to the altar to meet and interact with Dean Rebecca.
2. Draw out the Barricade Mind to obtain the Acceleron it guards
Once you've done this, head to the objective marker and start killing Vex to draw out the Barricade Mind.
You'll need to pick up 15 motes from the Vex you kill and dunk them in the pillar in the middle of the room (where the quest marker is).
Eventually, you'll spawn in the Barricade Mind, which is a Vex Hydra. Kill it.
Open the chest near the pillar to receive your rewards and advance your quest.
3. Access the terminal to acquire the translation cipher "Rosetta"
There is a terminal near the motes pillar. Go up to it and activate it to acquire Rosetta.
4. Return to Dean Rebecca with the Rosetta
Go back to Dean Rebecca now you have the Rosetta, and interact with her.
5. Access the Aionian's telemetry buoys to locate the disruptive signals
Now, you have to go and interact with three terminals to retrieve telemetry and locate Orin.
Follow the objective marker to an orange tower, and interact with it to trigger a conversation between The Drifter and Orin. Once you've done this, do the same for the next one, and the one after that, both of which will be a waypoint on your map and able to be tracked one after the other.
6. Meet with Orin
You'll need to go and talk to Orin. She's marked on the map, in the south of Caldera.
Go to the objective marker to meet her.
7. Access the Altar of Relativity
Head back to the Altar in the middle of Caldera, and interact with it.
8. Visit the Altar of Relativity to begin tracking strangelet capsules in the Central Academy and Exile's Accord.
There will be two quests in the Altar of Relativity, under 'Campaign'. Pick both of them up to advance to the next step.
9. Recover strangelet capsules across Kepler and return them to the Altar of Relativity
Complete both of the Central Academy Strangelet and Exile's Accord Strangelet quests to progress this to the next step.
